Vocal Instructor
My current focus as an educator is teaching private voice lessons to a diverse cohort of students - from high school to retirement age - with a focus in traditional bel canto pedagogy.

My style of teaching is based on that of my teacher Franco Bertacci whose lineage traces back to 19th century master pedagogue Manuel Garcia. The methodology as I have inherited it focuses on uncovering the unique sound of each student’s instrument and aims to optimize vocal strength and agility.
The primary focus of lessons is on exercises that guide this developmental process, as well as application of these techniques to the interpretation of classical repertoire. I further tailor lessons to individual students based on their interest in other pursuits such as singing in popular or choral music contexts, as well as learning to better read, write, or understand music.

My studio is based in Buffalo NY, but due to COVID-19 I am now primarily teaching lessons online.
